The first T K Chathunni Memorial Award Ceremony was held at the Town Hall, Thrissur on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 4 pm which was inaugurated by Honourable Justice CK Abdul, Chairman, Kerala Administrative Tribunal (KAT) & former Kerala High Court Acting Chief Justice. The award was presented to Sri. P.P. Muhammed Shadhil (Under 19 National Champion) by Honourable Justice CK Abdul and a cash award of Rs. 50,000 was presented by T K Chathunni's wife Smt. Swarnalatha along with. Mercy Cops Chairman Adv. K B Sunilkumar presided over the function, where Mercy Cops Founder KS Sudarshan IPS welcomed and Ajayakumar Uppath offered the vote of thanks. Former Indian goalkeeper Victor Manjila, football legends CV Pappachan, Jopaul Ancheri, Martin Mathews, AM Joseph, District Football Association President C Sumesh, District Sports Council President KR Sambashivan, P Vahid IPS, TK Suresh, KC Sankaran, delivered commemorative speeches. Kits of 5 footballs each were presented to 21 clubs in the district to promote football.
